Obama’s a Fascist

My favorite economist, Tom Sowell, writes that President Obama is not a socialist, because socialists own businesses outright. President Obama avoids this, because he dislikes blaming himself when things go bad.

Instead, Mr. Obama’s a fascist. Fascists control the economy, but leave the ownership of productive resources in private hands.

That’s better. As an example, Obama requires that children up to age 26 be included in the parents’ healthcare policy. When the insurance companies raise the premiums, he can cast blame on their so-called greed.

But most people consider fascists to be on the political right, while Obama is clearly a leftist. 

True, but back in the 1920s and 1930s, both Mussolini and Hitler were “lionized,” as Sowell put it, by the European and American left. Only after the cruelty and militarism of these men became evident did the left decide they were bad guys.

Bad guys can’t be leftists, right? Oh no, leftists are always good guys. Therefore, the intelligencia relabeled Mussolini and Hitler as rightists.

Okay, Obama is a leftist fascist. But whether left or right, all fascists consider themselves superior beings who make decisions for lesser folks like you and me.  

Yes, that’s him all right.
